Who does the work
With the Coop, you do. It arrives overstuffed and you remove fill a handful at a time over the first week or two until the pressure under your head disappears. That process is not difficult, but it is a process, and some people never quite commit to it.
With Pluto, a spec sheet does. You answer questions about frame, position, mattress firmness and heat, and the pillow arrives already at the height it thinks you need. Our test build required no adjustment at all — which is genuinely rare.
Feel and responsiveness
The Coop is dense, moldable shredded foam that holds a shape and needs a morning fluff. The Pluto build felt lighter and quicker to recover, with a quilted surface that reads more like a premium hotel pillow than a foam one — it reshapes fast when you roll, which suits combination sleepers.
Flexibility over time
This is the Coop's strongest argument. Bodies, mattresses and sleep positions change, and a new mattress can make a perfect pillow wrong overnight. The Coop absorbs that — unzip, adjust, done. Pluto's loft is final once the trial closes, so a mattress change later could leave you buying again.
Pluto's counter is the free rebuild inside the trial window: if the first build is wrong, describe how and they make another. That's adjustability with a one-week feedback loop instead of an instant one.
Cost
