The Casper Original is a fixed down-alternative pillow-in-pillow that you take as it comes and wash in the machine.
The decision comes down to one question: do you know what loft you need? If you do not, adjustability is worth more than any other feature. If you do, and it happens to be a medium, the simpler pillow is easier to live with.

Feel: dense and moldable vs light and plush
The Coop feels substantial. Shredded foam has weight and mass, it holds whatever shape you push it into, and it stays put under your head all night. Some people love that; others find it dead compared with a fibre pillow.
The Casper is the opposite — light, springy, and hotel-like. The outer chamber is soft on contact and the inner chamber stops it from bottoming out, so it feels plush without being a pancake. It does need a daily fluff.
Support by sleep position
For side sleepers the Coop wins outright. At full fill it holds the tall loft a side sleeper needs, and the fact that you can dial it means broad and narrow shoulders both get served by the same purchase.
For combination sleepers the Casper closes the gap. It reshapes instantly as you roll, where shredded foam has to be nudged back into place. Back sleepers can be happy on either, though the Coop needs about a third of the fill removed first.
Stomach sleepers should take the Coop, stripped well down — the Casper's fixed loft is low but not low enough for everyone.
Heat, upkeep and durability
Neither is a cooling pillow. The Coop holds heat under the head over a full night; the Casper breathes a little better but its fibre fill traps warmth too. Hot sleepers should look at a latex or ventilated option instead.
Upkeep is Casper's clearest advantage: the whole pillow goes in the washing machine, which is not true of any foam pillow. The Coop's cover washes but the foam only spot cleans. On durability the Coop wins — shredded foam holds loft for years and you can buy more fill, while down alternative gradually mats down and typically needs replacing sooner.
Value
The Casper is cheaper up front and the Coop is cheaper over time, because refill fill costs a few dollars and rescues a pillow that would otherwise be finished. The Coop's 100-night trial is also considerably more useful than 30 nights when it takes two weeks just to settle on a fill level.
