Medium and reasonably dense for a fiber product — firmer than a standard bed pillow, which it needs to be to hold a bump up rather than flattening beneath it.

Strictly for side sleeping. The contoured section slots under the belly while the back bolster prevents you rolling flat, which is the position most pregnancy guidance steers away from in later trimesters.

Because it's small, you do have to reposition it when you turn to the other side.

Much cooler than a full-body pillow simply because there's far less of it against you. Ordinary fiber-fill warmth, nothing more.

Hypoallergenic fiber in a washable cover, with the shape holding better than the price suggests. Boppy's stitching quality is consistent with its long track record in nursing pillows.

The compact shape can be moved anywhere: under the bump, behind the back, between the knees, or under the hips. That versatility partly makes up for the lack of full-body coverage.

Fiber fill holds up well over a pregnancy. Cover is removable and machine washable — an important feature for something used nightly for months.

Pregnant sleepers in a shared or smaller bed, frequent travelers, and anyone who finds full-body pillows claustrophobic.

Sleepers who want one pillow to support head, bump, back and knees at once.
