Saatva's Memory Foam Pillow is built around a shredded graphite-infused gel foam core wrapped in a plush organic cotton cover — a construction aimed squarely at people who love how memory foam cradles but hate how hot it sleeps.
In testing it delivered on that promise better than most: contouring that holds the neck in line, without the sweaty-pillow flip at 3 a.m. that plagues solid-block foam.

Firmness and feel
Medium and pillowy rather than dense. The shredded core gives more freely than a solid slab, so your head settles in rather than perching on top, but the outer pillow layer keeps the surface from feeling lumpy the way cheap shredded fills do.
Support by sleep position
Side sleepers with average to broad shoulders got the best results — the loft fills the shoulder gap and the foam resists bottoming out. Back sleepers found it comfortable but slightly tall; if you sleep flat on your back on a firm mattress, expect a mild chin-tuck.
Stomach sleepers should skip it entirely.
Cooling performance
The best-in-class part of this pillow. Graphite conducts heat away from the surface and the shredded structure lets air move, so the pillow never developed the hot pocket we look for in overnight thermal checks. The organic cotton cover helps by wicking rather than trapping moisture.
Materials and construction
A three-part build: a shredded gel-foam core, a plush surrounding pillow layer, and a zip-off organic cotton cover. That middle layer is why the surface feels smooth rather than gravelly — a meaningful upgrade over basic shredded-foam pillows.
Adjustability
Not adjustable. The cover unzips for washing, but the core is sealed. Pick your loft carefully at checkout, because there's no dialing it in later.
Durability and care
Owner reports after a year or more describe little loft loss, with the foam core rebounding overnight. Cover is machine washable; the core is spot-clean only, which is the main care drawback versus fully washable rivals.

Final verdict
One of the few memory foam pillows that truly sleeps cool. The short warranty is the only real blemish on an otherwise excellent pillow.
