Most 'side sleeper' pillows are just taller rectangles. The Eli & Elm is one of the few that changes shape for the job: a U-shaped design with a scoop cut into one long edge so your shoulder tucks into the pillow instead of pushing it out of place.

The U-shape, explained
The cut-out runs along the edge that faces your body. When you lie on your side, your shoulder slots into that scoop rather than colliding with the front of the pillow, which lets your head sit closer to the mattress while your neck stays level. The practical effect is that you stop waking up with the pillow shoved halfway up the bed.
Fill options and adjustment
The default is a blend of cooling Dunlop latex noodles and polyester fibre — springier and cooler than foam, and it holds loft under load better. The shredded memory foam option feels softer and more mouldable. Either way the fill is removable, so if the 6-inch profile is too tall you take some out; Eli & Elm also sells extra fill if you go too far.
Cooling and materials
Latex breathes better than memory foam, and noodle-cut latex has air channels through the whole fill. The cotton-blend cover with a small amount of spandex stretches with the shape, and a 100% cotton pillowcase is included. The materials are certified to OEKO-TEX Standard 100.
Trial, warranty and price
A 45-day return window and a 5-year warranty is a good package — the warranty in particular is longer than most direct rivals in this shape. The price is the sticking point: this sits well above a plain adjustable rectangle, and you are paying for a shape that only helps in one sleeping position.
