The Side Cube is a cube: a square-edged foam block designed to fill the gap between ear and mattress for side sleepers, with no taper and no contour. The Deluxe version is 35% larger than the original, adds ventilation holes, and uses a softer outer shell.

Why a cube at all
Side sleeping needs the head held level with the spine, which for a broad-shouldered adult means four to six inches of unyielding height. Conventional pillows taper and compress. A block does not, so the alignment argument is real — the question is whether you sleep on your side consistently enough to benefit.
What the Deluxe changes
More surface area than the original, ventilation holes that address both heat and ear pressure, an antimicrobial treatment, and a softer shell. The extra size is the meaningful upgrade: the original's biggest complaint was running out of pillow when you shift.
Height selection
Pillow Cube sells the Deluxe at a 5-inch standard height. Measure from the outside edge of your shoulder to the side of your neck while lying down and compare — a cube that is too tall pushes your head up and is worse than a pillow that is slightly too low.
