Parachute's Down Pillow is the classic hotel-style pillow done properly: European white down inside a 100% cotton sateen shell, offered in soft, medium and firm densities so you can match it to your position instead of settling.

It's the pillow to buy if you want that sink-in, moldable cloud feel and are willing to fluff it every morning to keep it.

Firmness and feel

Pure luxury softness. Even the firm density compresses easily under head weight, then springs back when you move — the moldability that foam simply cannot replicate. You can punch it into a wedge, fold it under your neck, or flatten it, and it responds instantly.

Support by sleep position

Density matters more than anything here. Side sleepers need the firm option; anything less lets the head sag. Back sleepers are best served by medium. Stomach sleepers should take the soft, which flattens to almost nothing and keeps the neck neutral.

Cooling performance

Down is naturally breathable and the cotton sateen shell moves air well, so it sleeps cool for a plush pillow. It won't feel icy the way a gel pillow does, but it doesn't hold heat either.

Materials and construction

Responsible Down Standard certified fill with baffled construction that keeps down from drifting to the corners. The sateen shell is tightly woven enough that we saw almost no quill poke-through during testing.

Adjustability

Not adjustable in the fill sense, but down is inherently shapeable — you can redistribute it by hand every night. The trade-off is that it needs a daily fluff to stay lofted.

Durability and care

Down lasts longer than most fills when cared for: expect five-plus years with regular fluffing and a protector. Machine washable on gentle with a low-heat dry; dryer balls speed up re-lofting significantly.

Final verdict

The best pure-down pillow we've tested at this price. Choose the density carefully and it's superb; choose wrong and it will feel like a mistake.
