Coop Cool Side toddler pillowcase

The Cool+ Adjustable Toddler Pillow is Coop's answer to the kid who kicks off every blanket and still wakes up with a damp hairline. Mechanically it is the toddler Original — same 13x18 in size, same removable cross-cut shredded fill — with a cooling cover swapped in.

If your child does not sleep hot, the standard toddler Original saves you money and does the same support job. The premium here buys a cooler surface, not more support.

Should you buy it?

Buy it if your toddler sleeps hot or shares a warm room. Otherwise the cheaper Original toddler pillow is the smarter pick.

How the cooling works

The cover uses a phase-change treated surface, which absorbs heat on contact and feels cold when a child first lies down. It is a surface effect, not air conditioning: it blunts the initial heat build-up rather than removing warmth all night. Combined with shredded rather than solid foam, it is a meaningful step cooler than a standard foam kids' pillow.

Support and loft

Identical to the Original toddler pillow. Remove about a third of the fill to start, and add it back as your child gets taller and their shoulders widen. Keeping the loft low is the single most important thing you can do for a young child's neck.

Care and value

Machine washable, cold and gentle, tumble dry low. At roughly ten dollars more than the standard toddler Original, the cooling cover is only worth it if heat is an actual complaint in your house — cooling covers also lose some of their cold-to-the-touch punch over many wash cycles.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Noticeably cooler surface than standard foam kids' pillows
  • Same adjustable fill as the Original toddler pillow
  • Machine washable
  • Correct toddler 13 x 18 in size

Cons

  • Costs more than the standard toddler Original for the same support
  • Cooling is a surface effect, not all-night temperature control
  • Cooling covers fade with repeated washing

Who should skip it

Anyone whose child does not run hot — the Original toddler pillow supports identically for less.

Final verdict

A targeted upgrade rather than a better pillow. Excellent if heat is the problem you are solving, unnecessary if it is not.
