Cozy Earth's cheaper pillow does the down-feel-without-down job: recycled polyester and bamboo viscose fill at a medium loft, under a bamboo viscose shell, certified OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100.

At $128 it sits between mass-market down alternative and the brand's own $198 silk pillow.

What the evidence tells us

We do not assign numerical ratings to research reviews. Specifications alone cannot establish comfort, overnight cooling, pressure relief, or long-term durability. Compare the documented construction and fit below; any logged hands-on measurements appear in the testing record above.

The medium-loft compromise

Cozy Earth positions this as an all-position pillow, and a medium loft with a soft feel does suit back and combination sleepers well. Side sleepers with wide shoulders will still find it compresses below what they need; a body size is offered but that solves a different problem.

Cooling without gimmicks

Bamboo viscose wicks moisture and feels cool to the touch, and the fill has no dense foam core to hold heat. This is the same passive approach as the silk pillow at a lower price, with a slightly warmer fill.

Certification and allergies

OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certification means the finished textile was tested for harmful substances. Combined with no animal down, that makes it a straightforward choice for allergy-conscious households.

Pros and cons

Pros

  • Cool-feeling bamboo viscose shell
  • No animal fill, springs back without clumping
  • OEKO-TEX STANDARD 100 certified
  • Body size available

Cons

  • Synthetic fill will flatten before a down pillow would
  • No loft adjustment
  • Underspecified for demanding side sleepers
  • $128 is above typical down alternative pricing

Final verdict

The easier Cozy Earth pillow to recommend. It gives most of the temperature benefit of the silk version at two-thirds the price.

Frequently asked questions

Is bamboo viscose the same as bamboo?

Viscose is a processed fibre made from bamboo pulp. It performs well for moisture and softness, but it is a manufactured fibre rather than raw bamboo.

Can it be washed?

Follow Cozy Earth's care instructions for the fill; a pillow protector greatly reduces how often any washing is needed.
