The Cool+ is Coop's answer to the one complaint that follows every shredded memory foam pillow around: heat. It keeps the adjustable dual-case system from the Original and Eden, then stacks three cooling measures on top — a cool-touch cover, a heat-wicking inner liner, and a ventilated phase-change gel foam layer built into one side of the pillow.
That gel layer is the part that makes this different rather than just marginally cooler. Flip it up and you get a firmer, flatter surface with a distinctly cold first touch; flip it down and you are sleeping on plain adjustable fill.

What the phase-change layer actually does
Phase-change material absorbs heat as it changes state, which is why it feels genuinely cold to the hand and stays cool for the first part of the night. Once it has absorbed as much as it can hold, it behaves like ordinary foam until it sheds that heat again. Treat it as a fast route to falling asleep rather than an all-night air conditioner, and the pillow makes sense; expect refrigeration and you will be disappointed.
The ventilated construction and the 2 in gusset both help airflow, and the plus-shaped fill pieces are shaped to leave more space between them than standard shredded chunks.
Adjustability and shape options
The dual-case system is the reason Coop pillows keep winning: unzip the outer cover, unzip the liner, and add or remove fill until your neck sits neutral. Extra fill ships in the box, so you can go higher than the default as well as lower — a detail most adjustable pillows skip.
