Mr. Squish Score
8.7/ 10

The Marlow takes a different route to adjustability than the shredded-fill crowd. Instead of adding or removing fill, it has zippers running down both side gussets: leave them closed for the plushest setting, open one for medium, open both for the firmest. Three defined feels, no mess, about ten seconds to change.

Inside is cooling-infused memory foam. At Brooklinen's price it's one of the cheapest ways to get a genuinely adjustable pillow from a name brand.

How the zipper system works

Both zippers closed compresses the fill into a lower, plusher profile. Unzipping releases volume, so the pillow rises and firms up. It's a coarser adjustment than pulling fill by the handful, but it's reversible in seconds and you can change it mid-week without any mess — which is exactly what fill-based pillows can't do.

Support by sleep position

Both zippers open gives the tallest, firmest setting, which is where most side sleepers land. One zipper open suits back sleepers. Fully zipped is the low, soft setting stomach sleepers and small-framed sleepers tend to prefer.

Cooling performance

Brooklinen describes the foam as cooling-infused, and the shredded structure helps air move. Expect it to run cooler than a solid memory foam block but warmer than latex. Pairing it with a percale or silk case makes a bigger difference than the infusion does.

Value

This is the strongest argument for the Marlow. Adjustable pillows from specialist brands usually start around triple digits; the Marlow sits well below that, and Brooklinen runs frequent promotions. For a guest bedroom where you don't know who is sleeping in it, three firmness settings for one price is genuinely useful.
